The 2013 NBA Shooting Stars champion is Team Bosh of the Eastern Conference, defeating Team Westbrook of the Western Conference. Team Bosh was made up of Miami Heat star Chris Bosh, Swin Cash of the WNBA’s Chicago Sky and former Atlanta Hawks great Dominique Wilkins. The team led by Oklahoma City Thunder star Russell Westbrook also included Maya Moore of the WNBA’s Minnesota Lynx and retired NBA legendary clutch shooter Robert Horry. In the first round, Team Bosh bested Team Lopez in what was a poor showing by both squads. Team Bosh finished with a time of 50 seconds, and that only stood because Team Lopez had a dreadful finish of one minute and seven seconds. For the Western Conference, Team Westbrook emerged victorious after completing its round in an impressive 29.5 seconds, while Team Harden came up short with a time of 37.9 seconds. Team Westbrook was cruising in the final round and looked certain to beat Team Bosh’s time of one minute and 24 seconds, but then came the half-court shot. Sadly for Team Westbrook, it was unable to make the half-court shot after getting to the final spot on the floor with plenty of time left. As time continued to tick, it figured to be Horry’s moment to drain yet another clutch shot as he had done throughout his career. However, that wasn’t the case, and instead, nobody on Team Westbrook was able to convert the final shot. That led to an improbable victory for Team Bosh. None of the teams in the final looked all that impressive, but Team Bosh was just slightly better. This was no doubt an ugly win for Bosh’s squad, and while it won’t be getting any style points for its victory, a win’s a win.
We ran into Mya and she gave us her definition of a independent woman. She also said that she can’t wait until the film comes out. Mya Speaks on being a Independent Woman . Thanks for the Co-Sign Mya, We love you ! Grammy Award Winning Artist Mýa, is celebrating 14 years in the entertainment industry as an internationally known, respected singer, songwriter, producer, dancer/choreographer, actress, designer, model, activist and philanthropist. In Fall 2009 Mýa entertained the world and impressed millions as the highest scoring contestant on ABC’s Season 9 of Dancing With The Stars. Mýa also created her own label, Planet 9, and released the first of a series of independent music compilations, Sugar & Spice LP and “The Perfect Edition” double disc in Japan in 2008 & 2009. Mýa finished out the decade as one of Billboard’s Hot 100 Artists Of the Decade, and was featured on a number of diverse charts & top 10 lists from Fuse‟s Sexiest Videos of All Time to VH1 Latin America’s Top Videos of The Decade. In 2010 we will see various musical releases from Mýa including collaboration with Cedric Gervais of Ultra Records, the world’s top dance label, titled “Love is The Answer.” In 2010 Mýa also reprised her role as National Spokesperson for The North Shore Animal League‟s Tour For Life and is featured in the Wyclef Jean remake of We Are the World, to benefit Haiti. Washington, DC native Mýa released her self titled, double platinum, debut album, Mýa, in 1998. Mýa featured the massively successful singles “It’s All About Me”, “Movin On”, and “My First Night With You”. In addition to her solo work, Mya was also a featured artist with Ol’ Dirty Bastard on Pras’ 1998 Grammy nominated hit, “Ghetto Supastar (That Is What You Are)”, from the Bulworth soundtrack and “Take Me There” from The Rugrats Movie soundtrack, with Blackstreet and Ma$e. In 2000, Mýa released her second album, Fear of Flying. Its first single, “The Best of Me”, featured rapper Jadakiss and Jay-Z appeared on the single‟s hit remix ”Best of Me-part 2.” Following the massive success of the second single “Case of the Ex”, Fear of Flying was re-released featuring the brand new smash, and third single, “Free.” Just as Fear of Flying went platinum, Mýa recorded “Where the Dream Takes You” the theme song for Walt Disney’s Atlantis: The Lost Empire. In May 2001, Mýa collaborated with Christina Aguilera, Lil’ Kim, P!nk and Missy Elliot on a remake of LaBelle’s “Lady Marmalade”, which is featured in Baz Luhrman’s Moulin Rouge.
After the accidental release of her 4th anticipated album “Liberation” in Japan by her label Motown/Universal at the time, Mya chose to part ways with her label Motown/Universal versus spending a year in court suing them over the negligence. The mishap was a blessing in disguise as the Japanese market positively responded and requested more. In 2007, Mya empowered herself, created her own label Planet 9, teamed up with a Japanese company Manhattan Records and released the successful “Sugar & Spice” album exclusively in Japan in December 2008, followed by “The Perfect Edition” double disc set in August 2009.

In 2008 Mýa appeared on CBS’s “Secret Talents of the Stars”, was featured in the national (RED) campaign for Dell + Microsoft, acted as the national spokesperson for the North Shore Animal League’s 2008 Tour For Life, served as a National Co-Chair of HillBlazers (Secretary of State Hillary Clinton‟s youth outreach program), continued to act as a committee host for VH1′s Save the Music, and was a featured contributing celebrity editor for the premiere web-based glam and fashion magazine BeautyBlitz.com. Mýa was set to make her Broadway debut in “Chicago” as Velma Kelly, but postponed her debut due to a broken foot. In 2009 Mýa continued her philanthropic efforts by chairing the 2009 Operation Smile Event, participating in the literary project, “If I’d Known Then: Women in Their 20′s and 30′s Write Letters to their Younger Selves”, by Ellen Spraggins, and accepting an Honoree award for her work with NSALA and continued support of animal welfare. Mýa continued her social efforts in 2010 by partnering with Cyndi Lauper’s TRUE COLORS: Give A Damn PSA, NOH8 campaign, NSALA 2010, and assisting in various HAITI relief efforts, among other philanthropic initiatives.

In 2010, Mya also released her 1st mixtape “Beauty & the Streets” Vol 1 for fans independently via Planet 9/Young Empire with distribution through Fontana/Universal While recovering from ankle surgery due to her injury acquired on Dancing With the Stars, in 2010 Mya went to work once again in the studio with various producers executive producing yet another album.

In January 2011, Mya became Good Will Ambassador for Africare (africare.org) an organization of over 40 years assisting the welfare of over 36 African countries. In February 2011, she once again appeared on the big screen alongside Zoe Zaldana, Brian White, Wood Harris & others in “The Heart Specialist.” In April 2011, Mya released her 7th studio album “K.I.S.S.” (Keep It Sexy & Simple) in Japan reaching No. 1 on the charts once again. On December 20th, 2011, Mya digitally released “K.I.S.S.” Deluxe Version in the U.S. & Canada featuring 6 brand new songs. On February 14th, Valentine’s Day, Mya will digitally release K.I.S.S. World Deluxe Version in all territories worldwide on iTunes via InGrooves. Physical orders of the World Version become available on Amazon.com & myamya.com on February 14th.

Mýa has spent the past decade developing her artistry, entertaining the world, and advocating causes close to her heart. In these 10 plus years Mýa has grown into a woman with a newfound strength that stems from changes, professionally and personally: Mýa speaks openly from her heart, soul and mind, “I feel that I’ve found my true artistry.” Mýa said. In the past couple years Mýa reprioritized her vision and awakened a new sense of passion within herself. She invested in building her own studio, studied sound engineering, began engineering, writing, executive producing, funding & independently releasing her projects. “I just knew that I had to get back to my roots and rediscover what excited me in the first place. I have all this creative energy and all these ideas, so I thought, let me, build a studio, vibe, put my own crew together, get creative, help create opportunities for others and do what I love to do.” And still Mýa is a humbled woman liberated, focused and driven to continue to inspire, innovate and keep audiences on their feet, to her own signature inspired beat, for the years to come.
Upon completion of his college career, Mr. LeJeune was given the opportunity to intern as an assistant principle at Veeder Elementary School in Colonie, Albany. The administrative position allowed him to observe teaching and classroom management before becoming a teacher. Mr. LeJeune started his first year of teaching at a St. Casmir’s school, which is a parochial school in Albany bring him to the realization the need for role-models in the urban areas. He continued his teaching experience with Mount Vernon School district in Westchester, New York and then to Promise Academy in Harlem New York. Becoming a part of Team Schools in Newark, New Jersey prior to moving to Georgia to pursue a Doctoral degree in Education Leadership, allowed him to express and showcase his skills and talents in education. As a Founding Algebra Teacher for Team Schools, Mr. LeJeune believes patience and taking the time to understand a student as a whole is the key to properly educating a child. He believes that a teacher should pay attention to the background of the student, the culture, the family history, the academic history, the social class, and economic status of the student. All of which are key elements to finding the best strategies to approach and reach the students learning. To conclude, Mr. LeJeune is well rounded individual who is eager to learn new ways to advance students learning. His focus is on the student’s future leading to college and beyond. Currently, Mr. LeJeune is Founder and Owner of MathAfterNumbers, LLC, which enables him to tutor, mentor, provide guidance and support for teachers, and instruct GED courses throughout and surrounding the Atlanta region.

NaTasha Breed Natasha (Gist) Breed, an inspiring writer and mother of four, resides in the Atlanta area. Born in Flint, Michigan in 1971, Natasha grew up in an era that created and appreciated Hip Hop music. Raised in the inner city dominated by mostly factories and auto plants, Natasha always dreamed of a much bigger life. Studying drama and music in school, Natasha was very active in many school productions and had an “itch” for entering any talent or fashion show the community had to offer. Although the stage was fun, writing was her passion and Natasha excelled in journalism during high school, participating in programs for the local newspaper and news station. Although she always dreamed big, she was most happy just being a Mom and sharing her life with childhood friend turned rapper, Eric Breed. As soulmate and mother of three children with Breed, Natasha experienced the good, bad, and ugly of the music industry first hand. After Breed’s sudden death in 2008, Natasha was faced with many negative setbacks when it came to the music industry and Breed’s Estate. Deciding not to let life’s most tragic blow knock her down, Natasha decided to use what she learned from her experiences to help others. She is currently writing her memoir, “What’s Left Behind”, an emotional story of her life: experiences with Breed and his tragic death, the music industry and how it left her family devastated. As an aggressive but intelligent woman, Natasha launched the singing career of daughter Lexi Breed and also manages the M.C Breed Estate. Future plans for Natasha: to continue writing as well as speak on panels or seminars educating artists’ regarding contracts, royalties, copyrights, etc. For more info: tasha.breed@yahoo.com
